Day 4

  1. Burrito with brown rice and black beans with cooked onions and green peppers at Moe's

Total calories:  1010 !!!

New goal reached!  Under 1200 calories!  I noticed after doing this for three days that I am less hungry and when I do eat, I get full quicker.  That is a great step on moving forward!!!  Also, went for a 30 minute walk with my love last night.  Need to drink water and I'm getting some more fruit tonight or tomorrow for smoothies in the morning.  Will have to calculate how much I'll be having in a smoothie since it will be my breakfast.  Hopefully I can get some low-cal stuff and some real juice instead of the really sugary stuff.  Trying to stay clear of sweets, although I did have gingerbread tonight BUT it was a small amount and I limited my intake.  :) I am so proud of myself!

Day 3

Day 3 has started and ended.  I had:


  1. One small apple
  2. One doughy pretzel with cinnamon/agave nectar
  3. Two slices of pizza with red sauce and vegan cheese
Estimated total: 915 calories

If hungry again, which I don't forsee, I will have another apple.

Doing well with my food consciousness.  Now all I need to do is remember to take my vitamins and drink more water.

Day 2

Flubbed on my salad dressing calories yesterday.  I used to have poppy seed dressing that was only 60 calories per tsp.  This dressing is 160 calories per tbsp.  I'm assuming I had the tbsp amount so I added 200 calories to my total because I had one salad in the morning and one salad at night.  Oh well, now I know.

  3. Boca Chicken on bun with ketchup
Calories total: 570

It's 3:15 and I had that for my lunch because I woke up late today.  I will eat an apple with some water later if I get a craving.  Small apples are only 55 calories.  Diet Coke is still bad for me, but atleast the caffeine is gone.  It's going to be a challenge to get rid of soda.  Hmm.  That's okay.  I will be eating by myself tonight because Casey will be at practice.  My problem is eating together with him.  If I already ate, I feel like I have to eat again with him so he doesn't feel left out.  It's such a weird thing.  I know he won't feel left out but I have always felt the need to eat with my significant other because I thought it was a bonding experience.  People have dinner together and talk and laugh, so I have it in my head if we don't eat together that we are missing out on that.  Will update later on little snacks and dinner.  Wish me luck!

It is now 6:40pm and I'm pretty full.  I skipped my apple by forgetfulness.  Now if I'm hungry later, I will have my apple.  Doing well so far.  If I have an apple it will bring my calorie intake to 1135.  Little less than yesterday.  As long as it's a slow going process I should be good.  Shave off little by little.  Even if I don't lose weight this way, I'm atleast food conscious and that can't be a bad thing!

New Years Healthy Lifestyle Day 1

This will be my food diary.


  1. Water
  2. 1 Apple
  3. Half cup of salad with a teaspoon of dressing.
  4. Toasted wheat bun with a teaspoon of butter.

Calories so far: 385

Will update on dinner later.  I am still hungry.  I had water with an apple for breakfast and then I waited a half an hour to eat something after the fruit, which was a salad and buttered bread.  We have rice and beans leftover but I don't want to overeat.  I will drink more water and see how I feel in an hour or two.  If I did my calculations correctly, I have 615 calories left to eat.  I don't exercise at the moment, so the 1000 calorie limit will work for now.  Once I start burning and exercising, I will need more.  I hate this resolution.  I do it every year and I fail miserably.  Why can't I just get healthy?  It doesn't seem so hard to other people.

Calories: 385 + 295 = 680.

Okay so 680 calories  and its 6:34p.m.  So, I'm actually doing too well.  I can eat more than I thought, I just have to track how many calories I'm intaking.  Woo hoo!

Calories: 385 + 680 = 1065 (edit: miscalculated. Actually 1265)

Okay so my goal was met with a few extra calories added on.  Good for my first day!
(I guess 1265 isn't too bad.  Will try and do better today)
